A Discipleship Plan
A Discipleship Plan
What do we do? We do "discipleship"!
Jesus said, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. God therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of ther Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am wiht you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV)
The Mailbox Club's Mission Statement reads:
"The mission of The Mailbox Club is to win the children and young people of the world to Christ and help nurture them into spiritual maturity through Bible correspondence courses and in to local churches. This is accomplished through direct ministry, and by multiplying our efforts through key partnerships and the Body of Christ around the world."
From this passage we call "the great commission" we see that making disciples has to do with teaching. Our "mission statement" uses the word nurture, which is often what we think of as children grow up in a loving home where the father and mother are engaged in years of teaching and training that young life how to live life in this world. We believe The Mailbox Club has been raised up in this time to fulfill a great need in Christendom today to teach and train new Believers in Christ Jesus, especially children, what it means to know God, receive His great salvation from sin, walk in faith with Him each day, and live for and serve Him for a lifetime.
The tool God has given us is a curriculum of Bible courses for children age 4-5 years that increment in upward steps to adult level studies. Our Bible courses are a unique form of Christian literature. Truth is taught in small enough increments that a child can "digest" the Word. The lessons are a long-term, interactive way to teach children in the privacy of their own home, undistracted and without threat. The Holy Spirit, then has a special environment to convict the child and lead them to saving faith. These "paper missionaries" can also go into closed countries. Mailbox Club Bible lessons are not a substitute for the Bible, the church, or any evangelistic ministry, but these studies teach basic Bible truth in support of the work of the church and provide the discipleship component that must follow every Gospel outreach that brings saving faith in Jesus Christ.
Assuming that you are involved in fulfilling our Lord's "great commission", we would ask:
WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR "DISCIPLESHIP"?
Maybe Mailbox Club Bible lessons should be a part of your "follow-up" program!
